Bellingham sidelined for England’s crucial Nations League matches due to injury

Real Madrid have confirmed that Jude Bellingham, their midfielder, will be sidelined due to a leg injury, which could see him miss England’s upcoming Nations League matches against Ireland and Finland.

The 21-year-old player is expected to be unavailable until after the international break, according to reports from Spain. The club released a statement on Friday stating, “Following tests carried out today on Jude Bellingham by Real Madrid’s medical team, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.”

Coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed the injury in a news conference, saying, “[Bellingham] got a knock. We’re evaluating it.”

Real Madrid are set to face Real Valladolid on Sunday, followed by La Liga games against Las Palmas and Real Betis before the international break. Meanwhile, England’s Nations League campaign is set to kick off under interim manager Lee Carsley, with a match against the Republic of Ireland on September 7th and a home game against Finland three days later at Wembley Stadium.
